Flower Power

The minute I saw this fabric (or should I say vintage sheet) I knew it had to be a coat. I went home and pulled out this thrifted pattern:

This was a big sewing challenge for me as I've never lined a coat before. The instructions made no sense, coming from a clueless reader. I looked up some YouTube videos and started to get an idea of how to do it and the I dove in. Luckily I got the right idea so there was no tragic unpicking. I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's a couple sizes too big so she'll have a lot of room to grow.

Spring Porch

I spent the day Saturday sewing with my mom, it was so fun. I was able to piece some pillows and my mom was able to show me how, while she made the most adorable Dresden kitchen towels.

I also put together a rag garland out of scraps. Super easy!

My daughter keeps rearranging the pillows. They're in a different place every time I look. So far I like them in the middle of the bench best :).

Kitchen towel makeover

I've been having fun decorating flour sack towels. I found smaller ones with red stripes at Walmart. I added a Dresden and crocheted trim. No dirty hands on this towel! Laura

Busy sewist

I've been bitten by the sewing bug!  I whipped up these dresses all within a week. I've got a few more projects on my table that I'm excited to work on too. I'm loving my vintage pattern collection, makes for creative fashion.

The final reading pillow..

I finally made Ashton reading/movie pillow. I hope I can find a travel pillow to put in it. I bought all I could find in my area and haven't seen any since. Good thing I have until September! Laura
