Cowboy Birthday Party
I made the invite in photoshop. I got the idea from this Martha Stewart valentine.
I reused the banner from his first birthday.
I created photos from every three months of his life that looked old west and had the age printed right on them (I wish I had printed these bigger). I also made the back drop from pvc pipe and covered it in a bandanna quilt top I also made.
I altered these Cowboy cookie labels from Bakerella. I used kraft paper for the table cover. We had Settler's stew, BBQ chicken, honey corn muffins, potato salad (I'll post the recipe later, it's the best ever), green salad - with Dan's Ranch (um), IBC rootbeer -in bottles, Lemonade, and mom's green beans.
I had all the galvanized tins from RJs blessing, it was great to reuse it all. I also altered the food flags from Style Me Pretty (I love them!) to say Happy Birthday.
Mini pies - this was my first time making pie crust and I had to make 6 batches to do all these pies. I didn't even eat one, I was pretty turned off after all that work (ha ha). I got the idea from Not Martha.
More flags with each of the flavors of the pies.
We used straw bales to do barrel races with stick horses from the dollar store.
We also had roping lessons with a steer head.

Born out of irritation
I have no patience. I am easily irritated when I have to repeat myself - so when my husband asked me where the such-n-such electronic cord was and I had to answer the same way I'd been answering for the last 4 and 1/2 years "in the blue box." I was done. Now not only will he remember where they are, they are a lot easier to get to and organized. I just made up some tags on photoshop, printed them off and sewed them right on to this shoe rack that hangs on the back of the door. Super easy!
